Stephy C is
a well know glamour/fine art model, visiting Portland for
the first time. I've long admired her work with some
of the best photographers around. I jumped at the
chance to work with her. |
|
As it turns
out, Stephy visited me on one of those rare sunny winter
days, and when that happens, I feel compelled to enjoy the
light coming in from my favorite window.
I plop
Stephy in that strong window light, and gradually, she loses
her clothing. Enjoy.

I've cut
back on posting "artistic effects" versions of
my images, but I still create & look at them often,
but feedback from web site visitors has been tepid.
Well, to
heck with that -- I'm including two "paint brush"
versions of this image; the difference is basically the
size of the brush.
I just love
the abstraction, how one's brain can "fill in the blanks"
when given minimal information.
Enjoy.

It's interesting.
Over along the wall, where the sunbeam comes in at a sharp
angle, the light was very contrasty. So, I look for
better light, and we don't have to go far. Here, in
the corner by the favorite window, there's lovely light.
It's
interesting because I would never have thought about setting
up light like this when using my strobes. The strong
main light is behind and to the side of Stephy, and
the fill light is bouncing off the wall along the left side
of the image.
Some
day, I'm gong to have to experiment with that kind of lighting
setups when I use the strobes.

Well, to
be honest, the window light today was a bit too difficult
for me. So, we abandon it & work with the studio
strobes instead. |
