I've
had this gauzy translucent
backdrop for several years,
but I just recently
rediscovered it. I've
used it for a backdrop, and
I've created a little nest
with it. This time, I
have Natalia wrap herself in
it, and she finds all sorts of
ways to make it come alive.

I
did something similar with Betcee
during her most recent sitting,
but this time, I put a light
behind the model, pointing towards
the camera.
Here,
Natalia looks fit & strong,
and her grace is evident, too. |

| A
glamour model would have posed entirely
differently (a glamour model would have never
covered her face), but I must admit that I prefer the
way Natalia was thinking. Like I said, she
"got it" right away. |
|
|
One
of the measures of a model's
ability is how many different
& relevant moods can she
produce. This setup
& its lighting are simple
& straightforward, but she
manages to give me a wide
variety of looks.
|
|
As
a photographer, it is a pure joy
to work with a beautiful model who
never stops moving.
Wait. It's more than that --
I've had models who would fidget;
that counts as constant moving,
doesn't it? Natalia has an
innate grace to go with the
classic lines of her figure.

| I
don't know if I could
define what makes a
"fine art" photo
versus a
"glamour" photo,
but I think I know it when
I see it. I believe
that a glamour model
wouldn't hide her face,
especially when she has a
lovely one like
Natalia. I also like
the highlight caused by
that light behind the
model pointing forward --
it highlights her hair
& defines the shape of
her arm. I like this
one quite a bit. |

I'm
sorry if I'm being redundant,
but I think about photography
a lot, including the time
between sittings. I
carry around in my head a list
of things to try or areas that
I want to work on. One
of these is that I've promised
myself to photograph models'
backs more.
I
like this one -- it's an
unusual angle for me (holding
the camera higher than the
model), and that light has
created a nice halo around
Natalia's head.

| Things
are moving quickly. When we
exchanged e-mails before meeting,
Natalia & I discussed finishing
the sitting in my shower, and she
seemed interested in that. So,
we pack up the equipment & head
for the steam room.
