For most models, we have a good time working
together, and that's the extent of our relationship.
But when Keira comes through town, we like to hang out together
for a while. We get a meal, take a walk, see the sights,
and then get down to the business of making images.
On this day, we go to one of my favorite lunch spots,
where natural / organic Japanese lunch boxes are served.
Keira is a consummate professional model, and as a result,
most of her images are pretty serious. But Keira also
has a stunning smile, and I enjoy seeing that. We
have fun on these adventures.

I'm using my
trusting point & shoot camera, held by hand. When
we get back to my house for our photography work, the light
in the front room is nice but not overly bright, resulting
in a longish exposure, which in turn results in a bit of
a blur.
No matter
-- I kinda like the blur. So there.
Recently, in a photography forum that I frequent,
someone asked "What do you consider a Pro
Level Camera?" My response:
"A pro level camera is any functioning
camera in the hands of a skilled & creative
photographer". |
We move to
the back stairs, which lead up to the guest room.

|
|
As Keira
moves up the stairs, her clothes are loosened, and they
eventually come off. |
I find this
image to be especially seductive.
See below
-- much of that seduction is lost when the paint brush artistic
effect is applied.
|
|
These two images,
especially the one on the left, seem different to me.
In both cases, the perspective is zoomed or cropped
in, eliminating everything except sensuous shadows.
These might be my favorite pictures I've done with Keira. |

I admit
that I crop everything, and that favorite picture (above
left) is a cropped image (see left) that was processed differently.
Many photographers take pride in using the whole negative
/ image; not me. Often, I find gems in the cropping.
While
I crop often, it's rare that I crop so radically.
